GOD's Yard

Although one can worship anytime and anywhere, most people think it is important to have a beautiful place in which to worship when they gather as a church. AUMC certainly has a magnificent sanctuary and a lovely chapel for services; however, the Landscape Committee think the entire property should be beautified.

The mission of God's Yard Ministry is to honor and glorify God by beautifying and maintaining the grounds of AUMC, to promote the stewardship of "God's Yard", and to encourage the participation of others as a commitment of time and talent as we join in the church's mission of
"People Reaching Out with Christ's Love And Infinite Mercy."

It is obvious that a few people cannot keep up with the maintenance of such a large property. If you would like to help with this project, please email   Maxine Parrott or call her at 770-974- 3312 . Workers, materials, ideas, and financial support are all needed. The blessings you will receive and the camaraderie you will enjoy will far exceed the effort you will expend!

We also have an "Adopt-a-Spot" program, in which Sunday School classes, other groups in the church , individuals , or families choose a particular island or limited area and commit to working on it. The plans for the specific areas need to fit in with the overall landscaping plan for the whole complex ; however, within that scope, you may design the area as you choose. Come and praise the Lord by working in
"God's Yard"!
