We know that people need care and support when they get the news of cancer.  We at Acworth UMC have seen the need to form a Ministry to address the needs of cancer patients and their families in this church and community.  Although there are many tools we can use, we are focusing on these four areas of care: Prayer, Food, Transportation, Organizational Medical Binders and a Library of Information. 

We are asking that everyone pray for this to be an effective ministry in the life of Acworth UMC.  We meet Monthly and are always looking for new faces to help make this ministry a success.  Please contact Kelli Smith Home: 678-547-5831 with questions or information on our next meeting.

What have we been up to recently?

We are in constant prayer for the 59 cancer survivors on our prayer list

We delivered 36 Meals to cancer survivors in 2008

We send over 400 cards a year to cancer survivors in 7 states.

We assist with transportation to doctor’s appointments and treatments.

We give out medical binders to help those going through treatments to organize their paperwork, business cards and other information.
